The Blue Ridge Music Center and the City of Galax are both major venues along The Crooked Road, Virginia's Heritage Music Trail. Being the World's Capitol of Old Time and Bluegrass music, Galax is full of unique shopping and dining establishments. Mount Airy, North Carolina, birthplace and boyhood home of Andy Griffith is within half an hour's drive.

Take Highway 52 North to I-74 near Mount Airy. Take Exit 6 (Highway 89) off I-74. Turn left at end of ramp and go west on 89 approximately 14 miles. Turn right onto the Blue Ridge Parkway entrance ramp and then left onto the Parkway itself. Travel 1.8 miles, and turn left on State Road 804 just past mile marker 214. Go .2 miles. A Place By The Parkway is located on the left. Take I-77 to Exit 100 (Mount Airy/Galax, Highway 89). Turn left at end of ramp and go west on 89 approximately 13 miles. Turn right onto the Blue Ridge Parkway entrance ramp and then left onto the Parkway itself. Travel 1.8 miles, and turn left on State Road 804 just past mile marker 214. Go .2 miles. A Place By The Parkway is located on the left. Take I-77 South to Exit 14 (Hillsville/Galax, Highway 58). Turn right at end of ramp onto Highway 58. Travel approximately 10 miles into the city of Galax. Turn left onto Main Street / Highway 89. Go approximately 10 miles and turn left onto the Blue Ridge Parkway ramp and then left again onto the Parkway itself. Travel 1.8 miles, and turn left on State Road 804 just past mile marker 214. Go .2 miles. A Place By The Parkway is located on the left.
